History of the Firm |
|
Moses Ma Group Partners (MMGP) was officially established in April of
2001. The firm traces its history to the 1995
formation of the Securities Practice, a specialized
consulting division, within the acclaimed Mitchell Madison Group.
Dr. Moses Ma led the Securities Practice to become a group
of highly experienced consultants working for some of the
most respected firms around the globe, including four of
the top six bulge-bracket U.S. investment banks.
In 1999, Mitchell Madison Group was acquired by USWeb/CKS and
subsequently by Whitman-Hart to form MarchFIRST. Here, the
Securities Practice was renamed the Global Securities
Practice in recognition of its global reach. The team's
success rivaled that of the financial consulting practice
at McKinsey and attracted several acquisition offers from
top tier management consulting firms such as the Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Co., and Booz Allen
Hamilton. Dr. Ma declined these offers, preferring to
keep the team intact. The Global Securities Practice
continued to perform under the MarchFIRST umbrella, achieving revenues of $16 million in
both 1999 and 2000.
Dr. Ma and a team of fifteen consultants from the Global
Securities Practice founded MMGP on April 17th, 2001, after
the collapse of MarchFIRST. One of the explicitly stated
objectives of the new firm was to recreate the open and fun
atmosphere present at the old Mitchell Madison Group, while preserving the professional integrity and
world-class reputation of the Securities Practice. We have continuously achieved and
surpassed our goals, having recently celebrated our most successful year to date in 2018.
